What is Illustration Art?
Illustration art includes a century's worth of some of the greatest original paintings produced for book covers, story illustrations, calendars and business artwork. Artist Norman Rockwell is probably the best-known leader in the field, having produced more than 300 covers for the Saturday Evening Post immortalizing American life in the 30s, 40s and 50s.

Local artist John Berkey, whose illustrations graced the covers of hundreds of books and magazines, and also appeared in calendars and story illustrations, was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in June, 2004.

A Leader in Preservation
The Daley Illustration Gallery has 500 original illustrations, making it one of the finest illustration painting collections in the world. The gallery boasts works by such leading artists as Gil Elvgren, famous for his pin-ups; Moran; Armstrong; An'Conia; Driben; and others. The gallery also has a substantial collection of religious art, including works by renowned artist George Prout, who worked for B&B during his career.

With the advent of digital artwork, these classic illustrations are often bypassed. These brilliant individualized paintings are now considered unique period art. Daley Illustration Gallery's goal is to preserve these originals as a valuable part of our heritage, so that they will be available for future generations. About Bill Daley
Bill Daley is a former All American football player at University of Minnesota and Michigan University; professional football player, and regimental commander of his Naval midshipman group at Columbia University in New York. In 1983, A Century of All Americans chose Daley as one of the All Time Football Fullbacks.

Minnesota fans may remember Daley from his 10 years of broadcasting the University of Minnesota football games, and four years of broadcasting for the Minnesota Vikings.
